Project-Portraits and Landscapes

1. 'Abigail'
2. I took this photo in my sister's bedroom.
3. This picture is a portrait. It has a a background that is not distracting and helps her to stand out.

1. 'Storm'
2. I took this picture in a field by my house.
3. This picture demonstrates a landscape. It has a deep depth-of-field and doesn't have a specific subject.
1. 'Maggie'
2. I took this picture in my back yard.
3. This picture demonstrates a landscape/portrait photo. Maggie is the subject and the main focus of the picture, but there is still a interesting landscape behind her.

Project 5-Experiments in Lighting

1. 'Reflection'
2. I took this picture of my cousin in my backyard.
3. This picture demonstrates good lighting. I think the fact that a portion her face is in the light adds texture and makes the picture more interesting.

1. 'Blinded'
2. I took this picture in my backyard.
3. This is an example of bad lighting. The sun was right in her face, making it so she could not fully open her eyes. It made her appear washed out and felt flat.

1. 'The Porch'
2. I took this picture from my porch at 8AM, 1PM, and 6 PM.
3. These pictures demonstrate the change in lighting throughout the course of the day. The light was brighter and made the leaves appear yellow at 8AM and 1PM. The lighting at the end of the day (at 6PM) made the leaves and trees look more orange.

Midterm- Best. Photo. Ever.

1. This photo is called 'Idaho Sunset'
2. I took this picture from my front yard.
3. This photo demonstrates color, the rule of thirds, framing, and balance. It demonstrates complementary colors in the sunset and the silhouettes of the trees. The rule of thirds is seen in the position of the tree on the left side of the photo and the sky, which takes up the upper two rows of the grid. It demonstrates framing and balance through the trees on both sides of the landscape.

1. This photo is called 'Tracks'.
2. I took this photo on the train tracks across the highway in front of my house.
3. This photo demonstrates the Rule of Thirds (the middle of the bow on the shoe is on the intersection of the grid), color (the absence of color), perspective (I took this photo from a lower angle), leading lines (the horizontal and vertical lines of the train tracks), and patterns (the pattern of the tracks with the shoe breaking the pattern).

1. This picture is called 'Giants'
2. I took this picture in my backyard.
3. This picture uses unique perspective (had my brother stand close to the camera and I had my sister sit far back. This made her look smaller and my brother look big), color (the warm color of red draws attention to my sister), and leading lines (the bottom of my brother's foot and the line between the black and red on my sister's face. That line draws attention to her face.)

Project 4-Framing and Viewpoint

1. This photo is called 'Chicken Coop'
2. I took it from the window of a chicken coop in my backyard.
3. This photo demonstrates framing. The window frames the tree and field and adds depth o the photo.

1. This photo is called 'Lilliput'.
2. I took this picture in my front yard.
3. This picture demonstrates an interesting viewpoint/perspective, as my sister is lined up so that it looks like she is on top of and smaller than my dog.

1. This photo is called 'Attack of the Jedi'.
2. I took this photo on my driveway.
3. This picture demonstrates a unique perspective. My sister is laying on her side pretending to hold a chalk drawing. It almost looks like she could be standing, but my dog is sitting on the ground next to her.

Photography Project 3-Patterns and Background

1. Unique
2. I took this picture in my kitchen
3. This picture demonstrates patterns. The egg carton is the same, with the egg breaking the pattern.

1. Autumn Fire
2. I took this picture in my backyard
3. This picture demonstrates good background. The background  is neutral and doesn't distract from the beautiful colors of the leaf.

1. 'Werk'
2. I took this picture in my front yard.
3. This picture demonstrates a poor background. My sister is on blue towel that distracts from her (she's the subject), the car provides a somewhat distracting pedestal, and my brother is 'photobombing' on the back of my car.
